I tried zu go to runlevel 1 with "sudo init 1" but my Ubuntu dont reach it, it is freezing.
I tried zu start the "recovery mode" in the Grub but if I dont set a vga=XXX Ubuntu use very large Fontsize, bigger than the screen, I cannot see the Prompt at the end.
Settings with vga=xxx are not a help, with VGA compatible settings, the same problem like none and with VESA compatibel setting there are grafic errors only.
I Use a NVidia TNT1 with the driver NV at the moment.
"hwinfo --framebuffer" says:

I tried different settings with Grub like:
Code:
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.27-7-generic root=UUID=23b65025-3298-48a5-a2f7-5703bf2217b5 ro single vga=0x0301
with near all possibel modes that are listet in the GRUB Menu (From 0-z) and this settings ebove (vga=0x0334....) and generic settings like vga=792.
Any Ideas?
