    Unhappy Ubuntu 8.10 fails to boot

    Hi Everyone,

    I have a problem installing Ubuntu 8.10 Server edition onto the following platform -

    Intel D945GCLF motherboard
    Intel Atom processor
    C/F -> IDE interface
    4GB compact flash
    512MB DDR RAM

    There is no problem with the installation process, but once installed the PC fails to boot. After the BIOS splash screen, I'm left with a flashing cursor at the top left hand corner of the screen.

    I've tried the 8.10 alternate CD and get the same results.

    Can anybody help?

    Regards,

    Lee
