Question Picasa in Ubuntu 8.04 Doesn't Import Videos

I really like Picasa but it will not download videos from my Canon Powershot S2 camera (still shot camera). It manages pictures just fine but not the videos. I even made sure that I set the Picasa options to include video file management.

Picasa in Windows XP will manage the videos with no issues.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Thanks,

    Mike

I've just discovered the google FAQ is incorrect.

Here's how you enable picasa in Ubuntu to import videos:

Which is no excuse for picasa not enabling video-import by default even when video support within picasa is disabled. Don't know how many videos google has wiped from peoples' cameras due to this design hiccup.
