Hi Group,
I'm running 8.04 on a Compaq with 2.8 gig processor and a gig of
ram. My user was the first one created. I have Visual effects set to
Extra and all is fine. All other users, Administrator or not will only
run Visual Effects None. It won't let me turn them on. I know they
work because when I log in as me they work.
I tried opening as another user and starting Nautilus. Then when I open System / Preferences / I can drag and drop Advanced Desktop Effects and Settings to the Nautilus field and open it there. It goes through the motions of actually trying, but comes up and says it can't be done and goes back to No Effects.
