Hi jomsa,

Which Wacom tablet do you have? What does your xorg.conf look like?
I am using the A5 one (6x9), xorg.conf is now quite empty really. But here it goes ->
Also i am very unskilled in Linux matters. Its just tool for me really, dont have time to learn its insides afaik :SCode:Section "Monitor" Identifier "Configured Monitor" EndSection Section "Monitor" Identifier "Monitor0" VendorName "Unknown" ModelName "Samsung SyncMaster" HorizSync 30.0 - 81.0 VertRefresh 56.0 - 75.0 EndSection Section "Monitor" Identifier "Monitor1" VendorName "Unknown" ModelName "Acer V223W" HorizSync 31.0 - 84.0 VertRefresh 56.0 - 77.0 EndSection Section "Screen" Identifier "Default Screen" Device "Configured Video Device" Monitor "Configured Monitor" Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True" DefaultDepth 24 EndSection Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen0" Device "Videocard0" Monitor "Monitor0" DefaultDepth 24 Option "TwinView" "1" Option "metamodes" "DFP-0: nvidia-auto-select +0+0, DFP-1: 1680x1050_60 +1680+0" EndSection Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen1" Device "Videocard1" Monitor "Monitor1" DefaultDepth 24 Option "TwinView" "0" Option "metamodes" "DFP-1: 1680x1050_60 +0+0" EndSection Section "Module" Load "glx" EndSection Section "Extensions" Option "Composite" "Enable" EndSection Section "ServerLayout" Identifier "Default Layout" Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0 EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "Configured Video Device" Driver "nvidia" EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "Videocard0" VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation" BoardName "GeForce 8600 GT" Driver "nvidia" Option "NoLogo" "True" EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "Videocard1" Driver "nvidia" VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation" BoardName "GeForce 8600 GT" BusID "PCI:1:0:0" Screen 1 EndSection Section "ServerFlags" Option "Xinerama" "0" EndSection

Hi jomsa,
OK, you have the "Wacom Intuos3 A5 Tablet Pen and Mouse USB Mac/Win". Is that correct?
Actually your xorg.conf is very full for Karmic. That's because you have Nvidia and have set up TwinView. Some folks don't even have a xorg.conf in Karmic!
Given that it is a usb tablet first you want to change the default wacom.fdi to a new one. Either the first or third one in post #176. Don't worry that you are new, just read it through a few times. It has explanations and instructions. And you can change things back if you need to.
Yes, but you know what. After i copied the new dfi file, it just magicly started working! It works now exactly as i want it to I dont get it whats going on, but maybe my previous fdi was toast or something? Thanks anyway, this got resolved way faster than i expected! THANKS THANKS!! Finally i can get back to work.
Hi jomsa,
You are welcome.
hey all! i'm back with a little problem...i changed to ubuntu 9.10 and my tablet isn't working...i have problems with pressure...in the rest i think i can handle because i've done that before but pressure installed a friend of my and i don't know how. so can you please help me again my talbet is an intuos 3 and i'm using ubuntu 9.10
Hi again llex_paul,
It sounds like you installed the modified wacom.fdi, like before, at post #176. Remember the name changes to 10-linuxwacom.fdi in Karmic.
To get pressure working in Gimp you have to configure the extended input devices. See near the bottom of the Wacom wiki.
And to remind you of what you did before you could start with your first post, post #270.
Good luck!
Hello,
Since upgrading to 9.10, one setting has changed, and I would like to get it back.
I often switch between relative and absolute mode, with the following commands:
I have dual monitors. When in absolute mode, however, I don't want the width of the tablet to represent the width of both monitors. That relative screen space of both monitors is much wider than the space on the tablet, making for skewed lines when I draw in Inkscape or Gimp or Photoshop.Code:xsetwacom set stylus mode relative; xsetwacom set stylus twinview none xsetwacom set stylus mode absolute; xsetwacom set stylus twinview horizontal ScreenNo 0
Before, I had it so that when I was in absolute mode, the space on the tablet corresponded to a space on the screen that was relatively equal in height and width. The usable space started from the left hand side of my two monitors.
This meant that while I was in absolute mode, there was a good chunk of space on the right that I could not access. But that was fine, because I had an accurate absolute mode for drawing with on the left.
I don't know what setting got changed, and I even tried to restore my previous fdi file from back ups.
How can I get absolute mode to not stretch to fill the width of both monitors, but instead be a relative size match for the size of the tablet?
I hope my question is clear.
Thank you for any advice.

Hi, I followed the instructions for Karmic and replaced the original 10-linuxwacom.fdi with the provided one. I have a USB Wacom Bamboo. After it didn't work, I tried "xsetwacom list" and nothing comes up. There's also nothing from "xinput --list". Have I skipped a step?
Hi PSIRockin,
What is the Bamboo's model number?
