It's sounding more and more like a bug somewhere.

Could you move Esc to Button8 and what's on Button8 to Button9? Does that work? Or is that no good with your work flow?

Re: Wacom tablets in Ubuntu guide/howto

    Hi Favux,

I tried it on Button8, 7 and 6, but it didn't work. I think that's a bug. Can I update the xf86-input-wacom to 0.10.xx or is it another problem?

    thanks

That was going to be my next suggestion. There've been a lot of fixes since 0.10.8.

You'll want to clone the xf86-input-wacom git repository. See the Bamboo P&T HOW TO step II. or the linuxwacom HOW TO section 2.

Re: Wacom tablets in Ubuntu guide/howto

I hope you mean 0.10.10+. In other words you cloned it. There's a known bug for tablet keys in the 0.10-9 snf 0.10-10 tars. That was fixed a few patches later.

If so time to file a bug report. You can either do that at linuxwacom-discuss: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/...xwacom-discuss or through their bug tracker: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?grou...96&atid=525124

    Hi Favux,

    yes, I cloned it.

The problem is in the xsetwacom.c or in XStringToKeysym. I will check the problem ...

I solved the problem temporary with the .Xmodmap (keycode 8 = Escape).

    thanks

    Hi Favux,

the problem is in keysym_to_keycode... The keysym is correct.

    ???

    thanks

    Hi

Thank you for your reply Favux! You wrote:

"It sounds like you have the tablet working. I'm not sure you had to use the xorg.conf. Could I see it? I think maybe the wacom.conf in xorg.conf.d would have worked for you."

I have copied and pasted my modified xorg.conf file for you below:

    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "Wacom class"
    MatchProduct "Wacom|WACOM"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
    Driver "wacom"
    #Option "Button2" "2"
    #Option "Button3" "3"
    Option "KeepShape" "on"
    EndSection

    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "Wacom serial class"
    MatchProduct "Serial Wacom Tablet"
    Driver "wacom"
    Option "ForceDevice" "ISDV4"
    EndSection

    # N-Trig Duosense Electromagnetic Digitizer
    Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "Wacom N-Trig class"
    MatchProduct "HID 1b96:0001"
    MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
    Driver "wacom"
    EndSection

    Hi riesengreen,

Sorry for the delayed response. Lost track of your post.

Does your blue tooth Intuos3 hot plug with the xorg.conf? If not you should be able to use the 10-wacom.conf I think. At most we should only have to find a match line or two, with luck.

If you're going to use the xorg.conf and the match lines in the 10-wacom.conf are working you should disable them by commenting them out. You don't want both active.

Re: Wacom tablets in Ubuntu guide/howto

    Hi,

I changed from Ubuntu 10.10 to 10.04 and I clone the xf86-input-wacom 0.10.10+. Now I can use only the half screen and half tablet (left side). Under 10.10 it works fine. I have a Intous ptk-840.

    What is the problem?

    thanks
    maarts

    EDIT: After restart it worked!
