HP NC8000 8.04 > 8.10 low-graphics - xorg?

Same problem, down to the 1152 x 864 resolution. I'm using an R300 card as well. Neither Vesa works correcty (low resolution on my 1680 x 1050 monitor) nor does fglrx.

Updates have caused this - the old opens ource drivers when Intrepid FIRST came out worked fine. This is due to a recent update. I'm trying to figure out how to revert to the initial install.

i have this problem too. But it's a fresh install in my case and i have SiS graphics. I did not wipe my hardy install so it's good for me to revert back. I even tried Mandriva which boasted of supporting SiS graphics card but it was a waste of time.
