    i was able to set cpu0 to performance, but i dont know how to set cpu1 to performance also. right now cpu1 is set to ondemand.

    also, is there a way to start in performance on both cpu during start up?

    If you use CPUFREQ panel then its a core wide setting.

    It's a shame that this needs to be stated every three or four posts, but again, this thread is for known bugs with known workarounds. There are many good places to talk about (or report) open bugs. Launchpad comes to mind...

    But this thread is supposed to be a place to talk about known ways to fix common problems. Please, please try to keep it that way.

    I don't think this entry belongs here (it's been added to the original post). It was a kernel bug in 8.04 which is fixed in 8.10. There are other USB bugs in 8.10 but without fixes
