Angry [SOLVED] PowerPC Hanging on install

    Hi all!

Well, i successfully installed 8.10 on my g4 PowerPC apple notebook and until the white screen of death, all was well. I attempted a reinstall using the install video=ofonly and it seems to go along smoothly until the final process (status bar) and it hangs on 6% every time. Ive waited over an hour so i just powered it off. anyone have a remedy for this? Should i just install Hardy and then upgrade?

    Thanks gurus.

    Re: PowerPC Hanging on install

Hey!! So when I did the install on my G4 iBook, I ran into the same problem you are describing. At the prompt, if you enter "livecd-powerpc-nosplash" it should take you directly to the GUI where you can do the install. (btw, check to make sure that I have the command correct...at the first prompt type "help", afterwards press the "Tab" key...this will bring up the list of possible boot command options!)

Hope this helps, and let me know if you still have trouble!
