Question [SOLVED] Desktop CD stops at boot-up

So I just manage to download the Xubuntu 8.10 iso via Bittorrent. Burned it onto a RW CD via Brasero, and restarted my computer and tried to run it. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working. After it brings up the menu, I select my language and then select any given choice in the menu... and the disk stops spinning, and it doesn't do anything. If I just wait for it to select my language by default, it will do the same thing. Has this happened to anyone else before? Should I blank the disk and re-burn? Should I re-download the iso all-together? Perhaps someone has some other idea? I've never suffered this problem with previous versions.

Have you checked the iso that the md5sum matched and also the cd for defects?
