    i am downloading the daily build from today, 2 hours ago. that will be my baseline, and i bet dollars to nickels the final will be the same build.

    Removed. It is not pulled in automatically by ubuntu-desktop. You still have it on your computer. If you tried to remove it a couple of days ago, you would have got the "ubuntu-desktop requires cruft/system cleaner" or similar. Now you can safely remove it. New users will not see this cruft stuff.
