I'm glad WINE can fulfill all of your needs, vexorian. But NO, I
didn't mean WINE.

My understanding is that CrossOver Office has better support
for certain applications - especially Outlook --which doesn't
even run in WINE but is reported as functional in CrossOver.
And yes, while most Ubuntu users probably aren't looking for
Outlook support for themselves, I've encountered a number of folks
at work who use Ubuntu, but say their wife HAS to have Outlook before
she will.

Plus CrossOver gaming is also available. I haven't used it yet,
but I would venture to guess that some games will work better in
CrossOver than in WINE.

I have to imagine that the answer to that is yes. Somewhere it said you
even receive full support for a year or two. Don't recall exactly where,
so I can't reference it now.

Yes, you will. Just save the installer file (either .sh or .deb) to an external disk with all of your personal data when you go to re-install. I've done this numerous times.
