    Startup problem

Every time I restart my portable, it always opens in xchat and Firefox. How can I stop this from happening. I turned off the option in System/Preferences/Sessions/Session Options, and restarted my PC several times. Is there something else that might be causing this to happen?

    Re: Startup problem

After reading your other post try this...
System>Administration>Login Window, go to Default Session (on first tab). If it is set to "Gnome" change it to "Run Xclient script" (or the reverse) and see if that helps.
Or you can change it when Ubuntu gets to the login screen. Look for "Session".
