    FCM site disappears on google

When I search for the website on google, it doesn't show up in the results anymore! what the heck? No combination brings it up unless I search for the address of the site... why would I do that if I already knew the address?

the only site that comes up (apart from other references to our magazine) is http://www.fullcircleonline.co.za/

"Full Circle is a trend-setting magazine that has taken the long established concept of free community publications and turned it on its head..."

are they allowed to do this? these people basically copied our name to make another online publication. I know that we publish to the internet under a free licence, but isn't this against the rules?

Thanks for bringing that to our attention. The FCM site is still in Google but it's .org url is surpassed by the hundreds of links which are pointing right at us! Which is no bad thing...

Unfortunately there's no law against having two magazines called Full Circle. The only way I can do anything is if we can prove they have nothing to do with the open source / Linux world, then I could ask them to change their web page source, which I doubt they would, looks like a spam site.

I've updated a few bits of code in the FCM site to try and knock them off the top spot for 'full circle magazine' but it'll take time for the changes to appear in Google. I hate SEO, it's such a sloooowwww business!

That has some things listed (see the Recommendations section) for SEO that'll get us back to the top of google. There's a plugin for wordpress for a couple of those things.

Listen man. Full Circle Magazine (www.fullcirclemagazine.co.za / www.fullcircleonline.co.za) has been going for a good five to six years, which is much MUCH longer than your publication. Please get your facts straight before you start accusing people of copying... really, if anyone copied anyone, you guys copied us. I'm not hear to point fingers, though, just wanna clear things up. Our magazine is also NOT an online publication. It is a glossy, high quality, coffee-table type magazine. We publish our magazines online purely for reference and for people who want to read it but aren't able to get their hands on a copy.

As for changing our source, you're right... That's not gonna happen.

I know you posted this a while ago, but I wouldn't worry - we both show up on google just fine.

Anyway, I like your work man, keep it up.

In India, our Full Circle Magazine site is on top of Google Search. Guess Indians do a lot of googling for this great community effort, Ronnie. I wonder in which countries we're behind on Google!
