    Strange rendering problem ati/wine

For the lack of being able to explain it thoroughly, here are some screenshots of what I'm experiencing when i run Perfect World International through wine.
(game runs fine for other players using ati cards)

    ubuntu 8.10
    Video card: ATI Radeon X1650pro
    fglrx driver: 8.54.3

the game runs very smooth, there are some texturing issues where players/npcs may show up blue/gray (primarily where all the random blue polys are coming from). If i find a spot where there's nothing but the terrain/trees everything works great; however if i turn to the point that there is an npc or player (most cause this, some actually render just fine) huge poly spikes fly to the center of the screen, moving along with their character or mine until they're out of sight.

So, the screenshots up above are what i'm experiencing, i believe this to be some sort of a problem with the ati drivers and i'm wondering if there's a way to fix it.

any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I think I know how you feel. I have a Radeon Xpress 1100 and I can't make WoW run on Wine.

what i don't really get is how inconsistant it is... some objects cause the big glitch... but after standing next to them for 10 mins while afk, they're suddenly modeled correctly (textures still wrong, but that doesn't bother me).. game is unplayable with the screen constantly covered in the mess, but it does run great, comparable/better than it does on vista

forgot to add, if i run it from terminal i'm spammed with
"fixme:d3d:state_fog Implement table fog for foggy vertex shader"
though i don't think it's really related to the issue,
