epsxe is not running in gutsy ....
i did a fresh insall of gutsy and tried to run epsxe but the terminal just dont do anything no error messages nothing and nothing is started....... the terminal just accepts the command

This seems to be related to the 2.6.22 kernel, since it is the one in Gutsy, and since you @vijay@ got it (partially) working by upgrading your kernel.

Also I found this thread, by a OpenSUSE 10.3 user who is experiencing the same problem. Guess what kernel version OpenSUSE 10.3 runs - 2.6.22!

Officially, you make private backups from games you already own.

You can also find games on the internet, but if you don't own the originals, downloading them is piracy.

I wish I knew one. The only ones I can think of is going through the hassle of upgrading/downgrading your kernel manually or switching to a distro with a different kernel. (Sabayon Linux PE 1.1 and Fedora 8 are running kernel 2.6.23)

I miss ePSXe, it's like an old friend of mine. Despite it's speed problems and difficult configuration, I liked it. Running pSX on my HDTV just isn't the same as running ePSXe in highres and with texture filtering.
