    Re: Install ePSXe Playstation Emulator

    Mega Man 8 runned perfectly until I beat my first boss, which caused epsxe to crash with:

    Code:
    /usr/local/bin/epsxe: line 6: 32117 Muistialueen ylitys     ./epsxe
    Muistialueen ylitys is Finnish and means something like "Excess of memory".

    This has happened for Frost Man and Grenade Man so I assume it happens for all the bosses. The crash happens a while after that purple thing appears on the floor after the boss has exploded. Does anyone happen to know how to fix this?

    A bit of a problem...

    For all peope having troubles with SEGMENTATION FAULT and PeteXGL2 plugin:

    vi /usr/local/games/epsxe/cfg/gpuPeteXGL2.cfg

    and play with settings named:

    NoRenderTexture
    TexFilter

    and maybe others. If nothing works, you can always try with Pete's Mesa plugin.

    Re: Install ePSXe Playstation Emulator

    First of all, great howto. I got up and running in no time. I even got my gamepad working.

    My problem was with creating an iso image from a game. I was going to try this:

    Code:
    cdrdao read-cd --read-raw --datafile gamename.bin --driver generic-mmc-raw gamename.toc
    This didn't work as it is written, so I assume some of this stuff I am supposed to adapt for my own situation. But I don't know what to put in for some of the things. For i.e. where can I find the exact gamename the disk has? (or am I just supposed to name it what I want). Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

    Anybody got FF IX working? I know one dude got it working, but he didnt tell how

    Also now epsxe crashes on start just because i put some plugins in the /plugins folder. Ill just have to test which one does it.

    Edit: Nvm, a reboot and some files in the $EPSXE/patches folder fixed it.

    To make an exact duplicate, try this command:

    cat (path/to/your/disc/drive) > image.iso

    The path to your disc drive will change depending on what it is. For example, I've got a DVD+-RW, which resides at /dev/dvdrw.

    Final Fantasy IX always freezes for me around the Dali cutscene, not sure why.

    Re: Install ePSXe Playstation Emulator

    Thx for the howto. I used the PeteXGL2 hardware render. My gfx card is a ATi Radeon 9200. I get this error when running from disk.

    * Memory handlers init.
    * ePSXe: PSX BIOS loaded [bios/SCPH1001.BIN].
    * Init internal cdrom ... ok
    * First/Last track: 1 1
    * Track 1: (DATA) - Start 0: (00,02,00)
    * NTSC cdrom detected.
    * Init gpu[0][libgpuPeteXGL2.so.2.0.8]
    Gdk-ERROR **: GLXUnsupportedPrivateRequest
    serial 37 error_code 163 request_code 143 minor_code 16
    Missing ATI render-texture extension!Missing shader extensions!

    Please help, I know this is an old thread.

    Install ePSXe version 1.5.2 or everything except version 1.6 and it should work.
