I only had the one video renderer available, does anyone know if any hardware renderers work that use opengl - hope this isn't a stupid question!!

Awesome howto! Thanks very much! All is working good now. The only problem I had is that none of my joypads seemed to work. I had set them up previously using Automatix, and Linux sees them fine, but they didn't work in ePSXe. Fixed this by installing padjoy. It can be found here:

any hints? I have all the libgtk stuff from apt installed

Nevermind, apt-cache search sucks nuts, I searched synaptic and found my stuff immediately.

Nice, i aways had epsxe here, since i installed once i just copy it when i format my pc.

Now i m playing Final Fantasy Tactics, last time i finished FFVII it was in 27 hours, how many did you spent in it akurashy? xD

However when I come to config my video or sound it crashes and I get the following error message:
Gdk-WARNING **: can not set locale modifiers
/usr/local/bin/epsxe: line 6: 9743 Segmentation fault ./epsxe
Any suggestions?

I'm not totally sure which package you need since I didn't get this message, but try installing libgtk1.2 and libgtk1.2-common.

It seems to me like there is some problems with your language settings, locales. I don't know how to fix it, but you could try searching for "locales" around the forum to get more info. Or maybe someone else knows how to solve it?
