Problems connecting when mac filtering is on

    Hello everyone.

At home when I try to connect with mac filtering on, I can not connect. I turn the mac filtering off and I can connect.

That's fine at home, I can leave the mac filtering off there.

Now sadly at school there is mac filtering on. They are running a WPA and PEAP security. It seems like if I could figure out what is going on with the mac address, I would be able to connect.

And yes I've been all over campus trying to get this working with no luck.

    Thanks in advance,
    Stephen

Are you saying that the school is using both mac filtering and wpa?
Two different issues, entirely. If they are using mac filtering, then you need to get the net admin to authorize your mac address for access to the net.
If it's wpa, you need a key. Depending on your hardware and the requisite driver, you may not have support for wpa.

    Sorry for not being clear.

    Yes they are using both.

I already have my key for the WPA. Also my mac address is set up correctly because the internet is working on my windows parition.

I am looking into seeing if my WPA is configured right, but I'm new to linux, Therefore this is going slow lol.
