But it wont work and my java flash wont work either while it are up.

Did read on priv's homesite that you should somehow configurate it a little more I guess

But I have somelines wrong in my file think in the midle somewhere, did put that line in their and did some wrong.

Might be me always something that wont work

    HTML Code:
    # Examples:
    #
    # From the company example.com, direct connections are made to all
    # "internal" domains, but everything outbound goes through their
    # ISP's proxy by way of example.com's corporate SOCKS 4A gateway
    # to the Internet.
    #
    # forward-socks4a / socks-gw.example.com:1080 www-cache.example-isp.net:8080
    # forward-socks4a /
    #
    # A rule that uses a SOCKS 4 gateway for all destinations but no
    # HTTP parent looks like this:
    #
    # forward-socks4 / socks-gw.example.com:1080 .

    Code:
    forward-socks4a / 127.0.0.1:9050 .

    forward-socks4a :443 127.0.0.1:9050 .

    forward-socks4a :53 127.0.0.1:9050 .

    listen-address 127.0.0.1:8118
I have that at the beginning of my privoxy's 'config' file and I use this:

Privoxy doesn't support FTP but by forwarding it to Privoxy is like stopping it. This way people can't find out my real IP by putting an ftp image or link. You can read more on this at TOR.eff.org

    @GuitarHero:
Using a web proxy (proxy sites) is like walking in the tunnel with a Ninja suit.
Using TOR+Privoxy is like walking in the tunnel with a Stealth suit.

Yes, Proxies tend to slow down your connection.

On Windows you have Vidalia that allows you to get new IP (location) and if you're lucky you will find one that is on HIGHSPEED and so speed wouldn't be a problem.

I'm not sure what you mean. Tor listens for SOCKS5 connections on 9050. Many client applications don't use the SOCKS5 protocol correctly (and leak DNS queries), hence Privoxy is used to safely route HTTP connections to the Tor SOCKS5 listener. So, after you configure Privoxy to route to Tor on 9050, you tell your client applications to connect to Privoxy's listening port on 8118.

Thanks for the how to, my problem is can I use HTTP proxy for my IM? It gives me error saying "proxy forbids tunneling".

It works very well in Edgy, it should work in Dapper, no idea about SwiftFox.

Which IM program are you using? I would check the website for the program and see if they have anything about setting it up under a proxy server or check the tor website.

I'm using Gaim, I go through its FAQ but no luck with proxy settings.

    Re: HOW TO surf anonymous

I tried this out and apart from it slowing down FF somewhat (like Torpark?), it works. I am however, showing an IP adress of 66.199.184.254, which it seems, has been banned from editing Wikipedia articles due to the possibility of it being a zombie computer... or a Tor open proxy address! Poo!

Thanks for the hour or so's worth of interesting reading to.

    Jenny
