    General - HOW TO surf anonymous
    how to surf anonymously ?

    I wouldn't have thought of that as spam, but the posts are identical, but interesting info about Belguim

    And that's relevant to whether or not his posts (all phrased identically, all concerning a single issue) are spam?

    were you not here last week when everyone on the board got spammed by a service offering bots to post to these boards? This is exactly what they do.

    TOR DNS Resolution

    NOTE
    ====

    What poptones states above is false: there are no DNS requests to your own DNS server.

    TOR does not send DNS requests to your system's DNS server. If your browser uses SOCKS4a or SOCKS5 correctly to connect to the TOR network, there are no local DNS leaks and the browser sends only unresolved hostnames to the TOR network. The TOR exit node resolves the hostname using its own DNS services however they may be configured. This is the way SOCKS works - the browser sends only the hostname (it does not send any details of your systems DNS configuration - why should it?).

    Just use privoxy or configure firefox according to the link posted by Danielle above. There is no need to install a local DNS server or any of that stuff.

    Where on the page do I put this code?

    forward-socks4a / localhost:9050 .

    Please put the lines that are before and after so I can look for that. Thanks.

    You can put it anywhere in the privoxy config file, I think it is in alphabetical, but you can put it wherever you want in the file and it should work

    Have you enabled the universe reposiroty? You can do it through synaptic or by editing the /etc/apt/sources.list file. If you need help doing this the forums are full of info, or if you still need help after you can post back here

    I didn't use your instructions, but they look nice.. another tip: most apps can be "torified" by doing "torify appname".. I've only tested it with irssi, though.
