    Privoxy Configuration access denied

The feature you are trying to access has either been disabled by the Privoxy administrator, or you came here by following an unsafe external link.

All enabled features are accessible from the main menu.
I just get this when i try to edit stuff, what do i have to do to allow myself to edit it using a browser?

I think there's an extension called AgentSwitcher. It allows your to mask your browser as another browser. Google it.

    Re: HOW TO surf anonymous

    3 questions:

    1. Privoxy gives me a foreign IP, so when I go to www.google.com it speaks to me in a different language. Can I set a preference for USA IPs?
    2. Is there any way to make it faster? It's unusably slow.
    3. How do I get this to work with Gaim?

    Thanks

    1. You can hit google.com in englsih link, their is a way to make certain sites use certain ip's but its not real easy, I had a link but never used it. I will dig it out and post here if I can find it.
    ----------
EDIT Counldnt find the link but its a known problem. Wiki entry here.
One solution would be to tell your browser to not use a proxy for google but then you wouldnt be anonymous on the site. Google customizes results to your ip so using tor can give some neat results
    -----------
    2. Thats a tough one, It is luck really. If it is unbearanbly slow open a terminal and run killall tor then relaunch tor and you may get connected to a faster route.

    3. To work with gaim or any other application supporting proxy, Open up the prefrences and tell it to use a socks server and set it to ip 127.0.0.1 and port 9050. If possible use socks4a for better security but either socks4 or 5 should work fne aswell. Ive heard that some socks versions other than 4a leak dns info but have never tested it. When you are using a socks server privoxy is not involved just tor

    Re: HOW TO surf anonymous

I just wanted a small detail cleared for me about the internet slowing down using this how-to. Will this will slow down my internet connection in firefox? or my internet as a whole?

    Re: HOW TO surf anonymous

It will slow down whatever program you use it with, If you dont set up the program to use a proxy you will have your regular speed just not be anonyomus, So if you connect with it in firefox you will be slowed down in firefox, But if you are download a torrent or chatting at the same time those wont be slowed down
