Multimedia Keyboard Volume Keys Stopped Working

    Hi and thanks.

I have a cheap multimedia keyboard with up and down volume control buttons that worked fine when I ran Feisty and Gutsy. It stopped sometime after installing Hardy, I think. Below is a shot of my sound preferences, I've kind of been a little apprehensive about touching the sound because, other than the change on my keyboard, it's great.

    Thanks in advance...

I'm having the same problem. The last change I made to my system was installing "gnome-do" but I don't know if that's a factor because disabling it doesn't seem to help.
The volume keys all worked fine at first, but now they all just toggle 'mute' on and off.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know if you're this lucky, but any chance that your keyboard might be listed in the keyboard preferences (System > Preferences > Keyboard)?

I'm attaching a screenshot for your your reference.

I figured it out, at least in my case...
Kshane try selecting different mixer tracks under device in sound preferences. Mine worked with analog front but maybe you need master.
Still no idea why it worked at first and then stopped.

I changed the track to master and all is as it was. Thank you very much!
