Only for Friends Who Switched to Ubuntu and working on it:

Tell me your opinion in using Ubuntu. Because I found it very beautiful, interesting and glamorous.

Its working, bug free packages (as i have noticed till now) is totally different and enjoyable to work with.

    Awaiting for your reply...

This isn't the proper place for your question, I have asked the mods to move it to the Community Cafe.

Poll doesn't make sense, so I didn't vote, but I absolutely hate Ubuntu and all it stands for.

It is a crime against humanity. If one is going to use their computer, Windows or OS X is the only way to go. If one must use Linux, it is obviously for a server, and for that Debian is the only choice.

I have no desire to use Ubuntu on my main machine (over Arch/Slackware). However, I run Dapper Drake (6.06) as a dual-boot with NetBSD on my secondary box.

Re: What is your opinion on Ubuntu?

In my mind, Ubuntu is THE distro to get someone to make the switch with. Synaptic and the repos make installing and updating software painless even for people terrified of the command-line, and it works out-of-the-box enough that I think -most- should have no issues installing it and just getting to work.

I don't use it currently, but it's definitely my pick for "average user" distro.

And if you're using Windows, only the excellent ME or Vista editions will do.

Re: What is your opinion on Ubuntu?

I think you're going to get an extremely biased result in this poll, considering probably 95% of the people here use Ubuntu (and if not, they're likely using another Linux distro).

Oh, and I can see someone who had a bad experience tomming in and complaining in this thread, spawning an argument. That happens all too often.
