[SOLVED] No sound in Ibex with a Macbook 2,1

    Hey guys,

I just finished an install of Intrepid Ibex on my macbook in order to test it out and perhaps eventually move over to a full time linux user.

Anyway, I have a Macbook 2,1 and after a full install of ibex I start up amarok and get no sound. In fact, no other application gives me sound either, and the sound "system preference" pane doesn't really help. I try the "test" buttons and no sound comes out.

Is there a special package I need to get sound working? Everything else has worked right out of the box.

    Thanks!

There are macbook wiki's but none of them have really been upgraded for ibex yet...nonetheless its worth a look

    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBook

My 3.1 (santa rosa) does have sound on ibex, but I do have to ensure that the front speakers are checked as on. Go look in the sound mixer preferences and make sure that yours are

    hope that helps

Well, it did get my front speakers working.

However, I'd like to have my audio-out functioning, which still hasn't worked yet.

I tried all of the mixers and nothing seems to send audio to my headphone jack.

I found a fix from the nice people in #ubuntu+1. Basically it was in my volume control preferences. All of the tracks needed to be enabled.

The poster just stated that everything was working. Did you try the solution he is suggesting?
