Where does it say this in the policy?

    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...29#post5958729
I got a message for that post which is as follows:
    Reason: illegal software
    -------
Please do not post support requests for using illegal software, it is in violation of the forum policy - http://ubuntuforums.org/index.php?page=policy
This is taken very seriously on these forums.

    Thank you.
    -------
Now, I looked in the policy and I couldn't find anything that says that specifically.
    Oh sure, it says
    6. Adult Content/Violence/Illegal Activity: Messages containing sexually oriented/violent/illegal dialogue, images, content, or links to these things will be deleted. Messages with links to or suggesting illegal activity will also be deleted. Posting or linking to any of these could result in a ban.
Now I don't see how my post fits into any of these things.
There's no mention of not asking for help with illegal software that I can see.

I would be totally fine if you guys wanted to modify the policy to include that, but it just isn't there.

    I think you misunderstood me.
My point is that I cannot find anything in the Policy that forbids asking for help with software that happens to be illegal, and not in the obtaining or doing other illegal acts with it, but just asking for general help with it.

    It comes under section 6

By assisting with your issue it would be assisting ( suggesting) illegal activity.

Could you clarify that in the policy then? Or maybe the technical support guidelines?
I get the idea that helping me use illegal software (even when such use is not illegal in it of itself) = encouraging me to use it again because I fear no repercussions, but it's not very clear in the policy.
