how do you configure internal mic in ubuntu 9.10?
Hi
Did you find any solution for x300 using ubuntu karmic?
your solution worked for ubuntu 9.04 but not for ubuntu 9.10
Just upgraded my X300 to 9.10... Had to perform some experiments (as always with a new distro) to configure the internal mic, but eventually got it working... Here is the link to what worked for me:

More seriously, there's a bunch of bugs that will certainly apply here, namely 440251 or 434520, so a proper fix will probably make it into the distro, but pending their resolution, you may want to try the steps described above...
Of course, comments are welcome : )
Cheers!
Sadly, the problem persists and appears unfixable with any of the things I've read in 10.04
tarek : )
any news on how to get the internal microphone to work in 10.04?
I am quite convinced that Canonical does not give a **** whether the internal mic works or not. The issue has been present with like at lest 6 versions in a row and nothing changes.
I tried days to make it work with 10.04 (and thinkpad x300) and eventually got too desperate, so I tried updating to 10.10. As you can guess, it did not pay off.
Dont even suggest updating to 11.04, I tried it once and it was a mistake..
I think I've read somewhere that mic works in 11.04. 10.04 should be an LTS, so the bug fix ought to be included there..?
I am quite frustrated.
