That would be cool if they got that going. I am always looking for good games for Ubuntu/Linux to keep easing me away from the Windows partition. The only reason I even boot into Windows now is to play COD 4 a couple of times a week.

Seeing an alternative for Spore on Ubuntu would be great, think of all the attention it would get
(and all the new people who would then be willing to try something other than Windows).
Let's just hope this is more than just a rumor!

Why would you want a Spore clone in Linux? That game sucks, it's trying to be five games in one, and does all five games badly.

Then why not try to do what Spore failed to do? Just because it failed at the way it did it doesn't mean it wasn't on the right track! I personally think spore was going in a good direction it just needed a lot more work on it thats all. After all Thomas Edison's first attempt at producing a light bulb didn't work either but did he stop? Of course not we wouldn't have a lot of things we do today if he did!

It looks like you were wanting to know if there is a clone available. Clones don't usually improve upon the gameplay, they just mimic it.
