I am at a hostel in Venice Italy and need help

These machines are running Ubuntu and I have to buy a card with a random user name and random password, and this card gives me 60 minutes of internet time.

The problem is, these cards are expensive.

Any idea how I could kill this timer in the lower left hand corner?

The only icons available on the task bar are the show desktop icon and a firefox icon.

I'm afraid the previous question is a setup. Yes I have purchased a card and am on the computer right now. Wondering how to go about circumventing the time limit associated with the card so I can surf longer
