    Post Greetings

    Greetings from Texas...

I installed Ubuntu a couple of days ago and I'm still stumbling my way around. But after wrestling with the Netgear WG111 card for awhile, I'm on the net. So things are looking better.

I haven't made the jump to "cold turkey" just yet, I'm still running dual boot with XP. I have played with a few other distros in the past but managed to mangle them so bad, I'd have to wipe the partitions and start again. Either that or I couldn't get my hardware configured correctly. I haven't done that much damage to Ubuntu yet, so life is good.

I'll give you one month before I think you will dump your dual boot, and be pure linux.

    Cheers,

    you could
    Code:
do a fresh install of windows XP
do not update it at all
thus you should not connect to internet
that way, you know you have xp, but you won't use it (unless you're drunk or something) so it's like you wiped it out minus the wiping out stress...

that's what I did... works like a marvel (spelling correct??)

NOTE: Oh I forgot (not cool)... fresh install of win xp will wipe out grub (very rude)... there was a howto somewhere in here to recover it...
