New Rig - Wired adapter not found. Ideas?
I have an Atheros wired card, I think. In Windows, I ran PC Wizard 2008 and it came back as an "Attansic - now owned by Atheros". And it was listed as an Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethernet Controller.
Ubuntu isn't picking it up. I used my 3Com wireless USB adapter that works out-of-box to pull down my updates, thinking maybe that's it, but I didn't get anything that helped my case of the wired card. What do you folks suggest?
Also - just a side note... I have a PCI-E x16 2.0 Nvidia 9600GT graphics card. When I had my wireless USB adapter plugged in in Ubuntu, I expected it to come down and say there's a restricted driver available. But, I didn't get a restricted driver message. I went to hardware devices and it said no drivers are in use. Do I "need" a restricted driver for my graphics card? Or is it possible Ubuntu somehow supports it full-bore already?
