Change nick

Hi there

I'd like to change my nickname from patrickfromspain to PatrickVogeli, since I now feel kind of stupid with my actual one (ho, never really liked it...).

Can this be done? How? If not, I'd like to know how to unregister my actual user and free my email address to register again with a new nickname with the same email address I have now.

When you reply and approve the action, I'll disable the current account and remove the email address from it. Then it will be available for you to use for a new account.

Wouldn't it be better to rename the "nick" of the user rather than disabling the account and then creating one?

Renaming an existing account is rare, unless the account is very new or there is a problem (like forestpixie's).

It's in the FAQ:

Can I change my username?

No. Usernames can not be changed - dashes can not be added, lowercase cannot be made uppercase, etc. However, you may choose to create a new account. The only exceptions to this are extreme cases, such as when a user has been harassed by another user.

Note: If you do make a new account, you will have to transfer all information yourself, as we will not do this for you. Also, we can't transfer your statistics (beans, account age and the like) to the new account.
