I want to get a new video card, and I was wondering in your experience does this card work pretty well with ubuntu?

In my very limited experience and having read up on it recently it seems that pretty much all Nvidia chips and ATI are good with ubuntu. depending on your version of ubuntu you might need to get a program called envyNG or envy legacy. this prog automates the installation of NVidia and ATI.

You should still have a look on NVidia's website to see if they have the drivers there. if you have ubuntu 8.04 then you shouldn't have a problem. mine picked up and automatically installed my Nvidia drivers.

that is all I can add and only cos I saw noone else had written anything so far.

also, if you have trouble getting the screen res sorted (as I did) do Alt-F2 and do gksudo displayconfig-gtk this will take you to a screen where you can choose your monitor and resolution. if your monitor is not there then just choose generic.

    good luck.
