    Installing Starlogo (or anything, really)

First off, not only am I still pretty new to Ubuntu, but I've had to use windows for a couple months so I guess I've gotten out of the hang of this.

I'm trying to install and run Starlogo (a computer modeling program), so I downloaded starlogo-2.2.tar.gz. I opened this, extracted it... now what do I do? I guess I'm just really drawing a blank here. >.<

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Also, just from searching around the web I've seen a lot of people suggesting "How to install ANYTHING in Ubuntu" on http://cutlersoftware.com/ubuntuinstall/ , but it looks like that site is down now. Would anyone happen to have a copy of that somehow?
