I have a SDB-T 1 Segment USB Adapter for Alps Nim (BDA) DigiBest Technology Co Ltd. on my Kohjinsha SH6 (See Kohjinsha thread here). As far as I know, there is no linux driver for this, and I tried contacting the manufacturer but they seem to have a non-working email posted on their Chinese website. And I don't know Chinese even if I wanted to call them up long-distance.

So my question is, how does one go about reverse-engineering this 1seg hardware and writing a driver for it? I have some background in C/C++ and found a nice beginner's guide for writing GNU/Linux drivers, but I have no idea about the hardware interfaces, etc. Are there people out there who want to write/help me write these drivers if I can provide them with information?

Thanks in advance!
