Automatic Public IP address change notification

Anyone know a, preferably cross-platform, solution to being notified of a public ip address change? My IP want give static address to public subscribers...only business class. I would like something to shoot an e-mail to me when it changes. Kinda like IP Watcher does for windows. Anyone ever attempted this before?

You will probably have to setup an mta (mail transfer agent) for this to work,
