    No HD Shown

    I'm using Xubuntu live cd to gain access to my Hardive files so i can back them up before I format it, but the hardrive doesn't show up anywhere.....any help

    open the terminal (Applications->Accessories->terminal) and enter the command

    $ df -h and check for your file system and where it is mounted.

    It's not mounted, but how can i mount it????

    If you are using live CD in some case your hard drives will not get mounted automatically. Open the file manger (nautilus) and you can click the hard disk icon to get it mounted.Don't you see any of your hard disk icons on the desk top?. If you are from windows back ground don't expect hard disks are shown by C: or D: etc.
