VLC in Gutsy repositories

The VLC player in Gutsy repositories is really old, are there any chances of update?

There's actually an update in the works. There's a tutorial on the Tombuntu site that shows you how to get it. If you're using an alternate skin I strongly suggest you switch to the default skin before you run the update. I had some pretty serious issues because I didn't do that.
