Question ECHO ON when viewing "Details" CLI

Hi, this is my first post on these forums and a relative noob with Linux.

I'm running on GNOME and I'd like to know how, when any program is executing (e.g. any installer) and you can click on a "Details" or "Terminal" item that displays the CLI, if there is a setting where you can have it show the commands being executed (basically turn ECHO ON)?
I'm trying to do this to learn Linux CLI more quickly.

    Thanks
