    remove Bluefish menu option

OK so I have been having some trouble with bluefish, basically I have to go through several steps in order for it to actually open a file. At one point I had two entries for Bluefish on the right click menu. One would work properly, the other not. I completely removed BF and also .~/.Bluefish but I still have, annoyingly, an entry in my right-click menu for it. How do I go about removing the entry?

Try this. Right click on the file type and select 'Properties'. Then click on the 'Open With' tab. Highlight Bluefish and then select 'Remove'. Make sure all the Bluefish references are removed, if there are multiple entries listed. I'd close it out, then repeat to add Bluefish back.
