    GNOME Setting Daemon error

On start up I am receiving an error message telling for GNOME Settings DAEMON. Consequently I am not booting fully; no task bars appearing, lock up on trying to close the error message.

Some things such as themes, sounds or background settings may not be working correctly.

    The last error message was:

Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in.
It started when I finally managed to get connected to my wireless network, the first time the error appeared I hit [Close] and then GNOME started up normally, since then I have being trying to get my sound card working by disabling ALSA to eventually enable OSS in it's place.
