Shameless bump because I would love to get this guy working... Borrowed it from a friend and since the USB port on my JVC hard drive video camera went out but the AV cable still works, so I want to be able to record straight to my laptop. Anybody having any luck with it?
I installed the synteck driver on Ubuntu 8.10 but they works only with a single input, while I need o work with all the 4 inputs.
Using zone minder or example, if I switch on a new camera, the previous camera is automatically switched off...
The problem is that the drivers do not switch between the diffrent inputs...
Any suggestions?
Did someone solved this problem?
Thanks a lot.
JK
I also have a DC60 but ubuntu tells me nothing when I connect the device. Still nobody solved it?
I am not good at trying new things but I found this site:
http://www.torrentreactor.net/find/easycap-linux-driver
maybe someone can say how you manage to make it work with this.
I want to try the sollution given in the older topic but it won't do this stap:
sudo ./configure && make
(After this command the file stk11xx.ko is created in the stk11xx-1.3.1 folder)
it says:
toine@pc-onder:~$ cd '/home/toine/Bureaublad/stk11xx-2.1.0' sudo ./configure && make
make: *** Geen doelen. Gestopt.
toine@pc-onder:~/Bureaublad/stk11xx-2.1.0$ sudo ./configure && make
[sudo] password for toine:
sudo: ./configure: command not found
toine@pc-onder:~/Bureaublad/stk11xx-2.1.0$

toin, that website crashed my computer!
For me, the easycap USB2.0 works fine (kernel 2.6.23)... just use:
Syntex DC-1125 (1.4.0 not the last version)
http://sourceforge.net/projects/syntekdriver/files/
Then apply two patch's:
(add support for the easycap, more specifically using lsusb: ID 05e1:0408 Syntek Semiconductor Co., Ltd)
http://www.ivor.org/stk0408-1.patch
(ntsc compability)
http://www.bentrask.com/NTSC.diff
Then compile using the syntex instructions, if all goes normally you should create a kernel extension (.ko), to load it do:
sudo insmod kernelextension.ko
plug your camera and check dmesg, normally you camera is in /dev/vide0 or /dev/video1, I got 30fps, it doesn't work very nice with opencv but with mplayer the image is very nice...
enjoy!, Busman
Any luck anybode with DC60+?
lsusb shows:
Bus 001 Device 042: ID eb1a:2861 eMPIA Technology, Inc.

busman.guru, when I click on the very first download link my dl manager flashes and nothing happens. I can't even complete the first step. I am trying to decide whether to spend my money on a digital video camera that records to sd card or a stand alone dvd burner instead of fighting with easycap. I think I am going to unplug and permanently cap easycap.
