    Ebox and FTP

    Hi there,

    I'm running an Ubuntu 8.04 server with the ebox plattform for user and groups managing. Now, I like to use FTP-Access with this users to there home directories. I tried pure-Ftpd-ldap. I have to access the ebox user informations on the ldap-server. But I have no clue how to configure it. Does someone have some experiences in this or a better solution?

    thanks for every help!

    Urs

    Re: Ebox and FTP

    Thanks for your fast answer. i changed now to vsftp and the installing was easy. But still i have a problem: I can't reach the ftp-server from outside my network.

    I tried
    Code:
    $ telnet localhost 21
    and got a connection. If try telnet localhost mydomain I didn't get any connection. I tried also with Filezilla from another network.

    If I watch my port with nmap port 21 is open local but not from my domain:

    Code:
    $ nmap -sV localhost

    Re: Ebox and FTP

    You need to forward your port 21 to your server from your router.

    Hard to find and obsolete PC and server parts. "If we can't find it, it probably doesn't exist"

    Re: Ebox and FTP

    Ok. That works now. Thanks a lot. I had also to put a port forwarding in ebox configurations. But how get vsFTP the users from ebox or my ldap-server?
