can't connect itouch to amarok (need help understanding existing solutions)

Hello,

I'm struggling with setting up Amarok to recognize my itouch (Version 4.2.1)

I found this thread which seemed to be helpful to others with the same problem: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=300958#c17

Unfortunately, my level of knowledge is far below what is necessary to find this advice useful.

Can someone help me figure out in more simpler terms what I should do?
