evolution keeps crashing

installed hardy heron. however, my evolution keeps shutting down everytime i click the send/recieve tab.

anyone got any ideas how to resolve this instability?

also noticed with firefox that some websites are really slow to download - or won't even open at all - especially if i have more than one window open.

Try running Evolution from the terminal to see what sort of error it throws when it crashes. This way we have something to work with.

when I run evolutin from the command line I get core dumped , same with FF.

Hi all

Glad to see I am not the only guy that have problems with Evolution. Mine just turn grey for around 10 minutes then I can continuous working. This is really frustrated if you are busy compiling a new e-mail. Is there any solution to the problem?

If you install ubuntu 8.xx, evolution works 100%, if you upgrade the problem start again. Currently running Evolution 2.22.2

I am currently busy to play with funambol's exchange plugin. I just can't get it to talk to the exchange server. I hope I can get it up and running and then use thunderbird or simple groupware to link to the funambol folder and get my calendar and add new calendar entries.

Hope there is a light at the end of this dark tunnel.

Try turning off all visual effects.

Navigate to System>Preferences>Appearance

When the window opens, click on the Visual Effects Tab

Select None.

Quite often Compiz can cause all sorts of problems with some video cards.

Now try running Evolution and see if the problem persists.

Didn't resolve the problem but, bloody hell, it has speeded up my system!!!

I had the same issue with my Evoultion as well, I ran it in a terminal and noted that it was my RSS reader causing the issue. My take is, if you have recently added a plugin to your evoultion email client this could be the reason it crashes.
