    Installation of Ubuntu on EEEPc

Hey. I'd like to install Xubuntu on my wife's Asus EEEPc. The Linux Distros pre-installed from Asus, is very limited with networking, customization, and overall ability, and she'd like to be able to do a little more than just browse the web. It has a 2GB SSD hard drive, 512MB RAM and an Intel CPU. It doesn't have an internal CD drive, but it does have USB ports and an SD card slot. So far I've tried copying the files within the .ISO image over to SD card and booting off of the SD card on the Asus. But I just get the white flashing line. I'm wondering if this is feasible and if it is a little help would be appreciated. Thanks

Have you tried using http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ and a USB flash drive?

2G is a bit small for full Ubuntu.
    Try ubuntu-eee

I boot my wife's eee from a pendrive to get the full version.
You can install to pendrive from the Live CD same as to HDD.
Just tell the eee,s bios that you want to boot from the PD first.
Ubuntu takes a lot longer to boot than Xandros eee.
