The armor is pretty integrated with the body, I figured since we would need to have a tolerance for some wacky stuff on characters anyway, we could just start with the guy in the space suit, than do a different one later. I'll work on giving it a full UV map, and put things like caution tape and stuff on the body of the character, to make sure that it's very clear he's the testing model only, and that screenshots with him in it will obviously not be in the end production. Oh, I also have an old model of a desk, a few old chairs, and some couch models I can contribute, as soon as someone links me to a good site to host my stuff on.

    Great stuff!

It should eb fine to go ahead with the testing.

I've been working on a OpenGL game system already whilst messing around so I've pretty much got a system ready to display and position models etc.

I've decided to go with python, although I have previously done stuff in c++, I recon it will make it easier for others to get involved too.

I'll see if I can give you some space on my hosting and I'll be in touch!

Python seems the thing to do these days, so that's a good idea. For those of you following along, if anyone other than mickey and myself actually is, anyway, the current spot for my work is at

    http://www.mikehibbert.me.uk/xakh/
graciously provided by the other person working on La Vida.

    Hi all

Just relised I had a bug!

Python OpenGL in ubuntu doesnt have glVertexf !

I fixed it though so if you want to give it a go you need the following python packages:

    python-opengl
    pygame

once you install those you need to go to the la-vida folder and type :

    python la-vida.py

after a few seconds you will see a sim landscape, use w,s and the arrow keys to have a look arround, (although a bit limited atm)

    Indeed

I've successfully included support for VBO in Opengl which as made a nice little speedup for the rendering.

Once I'm happy with that I can start including a more complex house model and things should start looking really cool
