[SOLVED] pidgin randomly shuts down

I'm working on this problem for a friend who's new to linux. When he logs in to his myspace IM with pidgin the whole program shuts down.
Running pidgin through terminal it gives this error message after shut down:

Segmentation fault

Hmm, doesnt myspace IM also use skype?

That part I am unsure of as I dont really use myspace, but I am aware it has a skype client.

well I personally cannot provide answers, I was just here to get base info so that more experienced users can help.

I fixed it by enabling the XMPP plugin through tools>plugins in pidgin.
