    must remove battery to reboot

I've been running other distros but recently came back to Ubuntu (11.10).
The only problem I have is that about half the time after shutting down, the laptop won't start. It won't even get to the bios splash screen. It will power up for a few seconds then it will shut down and start up again. This cycle will repeat until I hold the power button down forcing it to quit.

After I remove the battery and power cable, then replace the battery the laptop will start as normal.

I have an Acer Aspire 5735 and running Ubuntu 11.10 (dual boot with windows 7).

This never happens when I shut down from Windows 7. It only happens when I shut down from Ubuntu. Nor did it happen when I was using Mint. It only showed up after I recently went back to Ubuntu 11.10.
