Please help (Grub and dual-booting)

I recently created a new partition on my hard-drive to install xp alongside ubuntu. Everything went smoothly and it worked for about a week, but now when i choose windows from the grub menu it hangs on a blank screen and it stays there.

I dont know what could have caused it, it was working fine and there were no changes to windows, grub, or even ubuntu for that matter.

Your help will be very appreciated.

Where did the map lines come from? If widows is in sda2 you should not need then. In fact I'm kind of surprised that that worked. with them.

also your windows entry should be after the line that reads
### END DEBIAN AUTOMAGIC KERNELS LIST

Moving it below that line will keep it safe from change by update-grub nex time there is a kernel update.
